  • A: Slab gate valves feature a flat, through-conduit disc. This provides a smooth flow path with no turbulence, allows for pipeline pigging, and reduces seat wear during operation.

Q2: Can Sedelon customize valves for sour service (H2S)?

  • A: Yes. We offer specialized material configurations compliant with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 to prevent sulfide stress cracking in harsh environments.

Q3: Is it possible to perform maintenance while the valve is under pressure?

  • A: Our slab gate valves are equipped with emergency sealant injection ports. This allows operators to inject grease to restore sealing integrity temporarily without shutting down the line.

Q4: What testing is performed before shipping?

  • A: Every valve undergoes hydrostatic and air testing according to API 6D and API 598 standards. We also provide Material Test Reports (MTR) and inspection certificates upon request.

Q5: How do I choose between a slab gate valve and an expanding gate valve?
